THE FAMILY WEEK EXPERIENCE
Sponsored by the Family Pride Coalition and COLAGE, Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere July 15-21, 2000 Saugatuck/Douglas, Michigan For the first time, we bring the concept of Family Week to the Midwest vacation spot of Saugatuck and Douglas, Michigan. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan and on the banks of the Kalamazoo River. Saugatuck, is known as the "Cape Cod of the Midwest." A beautiful artists' colony with beautiful beaches and towering sand dunes, Saugatuck/Douglas is a popular destination for lesbian and gay visitors and the perfect location for Family Week 2000. From downtown Saugatuck or neighboring Douglas (just across the river), you can walk to almost everything. Take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk. Picnic by the gazebo in the park overlooking the harbor. Ride a hand-cranked Victorian ferry. Charter a sailboat; board an old-fashioned steam wheeler. Have an ice cream soda or malted at the corner soda fountain. But best of all, join other families like yours for all the relaxing fun. You and your children will never forget it!
